PROTEI is ready to answer IoT MVNO demands proposing several solutions specially tailored for such MVNOs. PROTEI changed traditional licensing principles for such products crucial for IoT MVNOs as HLR/HSS and DPI.
Instead of traditional HLR/HSS licensing by number of subscribers alternative licensing by number of transactions may be used making huge number of IoT devices’ hosting much more convenient for MVNO. E.g. such approach together with non-geographical IMSI usage (e.g. having MCC 901) and dynamic SIM-card provisioning capabilities may allow creating almost unlimited number of devices in HLR in advance simplifying further device configuration and activation and enabling efficient creation of multi-country MVNOs. This technology is extremely efficient in such IoT sectors as consumer electronics (including some m-Health projects) where number of devices and the date of their activation/appearance can’t be predicted and at the same time all these devices are to be ready-to-use.
Specific set of features is also required for DPI and PCRF modules to be used in IoT projects. Using PROTEI solutions for data traffic management it’s possible to assign only specific IMEI range to have an access to particular data services to avoid misusing of SIM-cards allocated for IoT projects. Also, it is possible to strictly define list of services, protocols and ports to be accessed from such SIM-cards to ensure better level of security and only correct usage of such SIM-cards.
Also, some specific features have been implemented in other network elements. E-Call support by PROTEI GMSC and MGW gives an opportunity to use PROTEI MVNO infrastructure in public safety projects whereas Multi-IMSI platform enabling cost-efficient inter-MVNO roaming may be extremely useful for IoT projects in transport infrastructure where the most efficient international roaming may be required.
